Kidney disease… is not as far from us as we think. By the time we realize we have it, it’s often too late.

Learn how to assess your kidney disease risk, prevent it, and treat it with the ECP program.

Kidney problems… a common issue you need to watch out for. What is kidney disease?

What is kidney disease?

Kidney disease occurs when the kidneys lose their ability to filter waste from the blood. This leads to a buildup of waste and fluid in the body, affecting other vital organs and potentially resulting in kidney failure.

Common causes of chronic kidney failure

  • Diabetes: High blood sugar damages the blood vessels in the kidneys.
  • High blood pressure: Excessive blood pressure harms the blood vessels supplying the kidneys.
  • Kidney inflammation (nephritis): Inflammation of the kidney units impairs waste filtration.
  • Kidney stones: Obstruction in the urinary tract

How many stages of kidney disease are there?

Kidney disease is classified into 5 stages based on the kidney’s filtration rate (eGFR)

  • Stage 1: Kidney function is normal but damage has begun (eGFR > 90)
  • Stage 2: Mild kidney damage (eGFR 60–89)
  • Stage 3: Moderate kidney damage (eGFR 30–59)
  • Stage 4: Severe kidney damage (eGFR 15–29)
  • Stage 5: End-stage kidney failure (eGFR < 15), requiring dialysis or kidney transplant

The earlier you recognize the problem and start taking care of yourself, the greater the chance your kidneys can recover and function better

What is ECP? A new option for kidney care

ECP (Enhanced External Counterpulsation) is a non-surgical, drug-free therapy that uses external pulse pressure. It works through a medical device similar to a full-body massage, focusing on the legs and hips to help blood flow back to the heart and vital organs.

How the ECP program works for the kidneys

  • Improves blood flow to the kidneys: ECP pressure helps push blood from the extremities back to the heart, allowing better and more efficient blood supply to the kidneys.
  • Stimulates new blood vessel formation: It encourages the growth of small collateral vessels, creating alternative pathways for blood to reach the kidneys.
  • Reduces kidney workload:With improved circulation, the kidneys don’t have to work as hard to filter waste, enhancing their overall efficiency.
  • Enhances waste removal: Better blood flow helps the kidneys remove waste from the body more effectively.

Benefits of the ECP program

  • Reduces fatigue and tiredness:Helps the body feel refreshed and more energetic.
  • Supports kidney function: Slows down kidney deterioration and improves kidney performance.
  • Non-invasive and painless: No surgery or injections are required, making it safe and comfortable.
  • Improves quality of life: Less frequent hospital visits, giving you more time to enjoy life.
  • Reduces the risk of dialysis: Helps delay or extend the time before dialysis is needed.
